The Fourth Research & Practical Conference with International Participation “Kayshibayev’s Readings: Current Issues of Neurology” was held on the 3rd – 4th of October in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Arterium Corporation was the title sponsor of this event.
The Conference brought together a wide community of neurologists, scientists and practitioners from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia and Spain and focused on current issues of clinical neurology such as cerebrovascular disorders, demyelinating and degenerative disorders of the nervous system, pain syndrome, orphan diseases, pharmacotherapy for disorders of the nervous system and rehabilitation for patients with disorders of the nervous system.
Today, neuroprotection is considered to be one of the main therapeutic options for ischemic stroke and brain injuries. Neuroprotection is aimed at preservation and rehabilitation of the function of injured brain neurons. Prof B.G. Gafurov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, presented his report “Background Therapy for Stroke: A Focus on Neuroprotection”. Dr G.S. Kayshibayeva, Candidate of Medical Sciences, reviewed current practice of correction of cognitive deficiency in patients at their early rehabilitation period after ischemic stroke. Dr E.N. Madzhidova, Doctor of Medical Sciences, analysed experience and efficacy of L-lysine aescinat as a part of comprehensive therapy for vertebrogenic radiculopathy.
